FAR FACTORY
SELECTED WORKS
The project involved designing two housing units in an L-shaped, semi-detached building on a narrow, east-west-oriented lot in the Veneto countryside. Due to the high-traffic road and unremarkable surroundings, the units were designed as "introverted" spaces, with each home centered around an enclosed interior patio-garden. This design choice enables the living room windows to open toward the private garden, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor connection. A cantilevered roof on the southern side visually unifies the facade and frames large panelworks with sunshades, adding privacy and completing the garden enclosure. The eastern entrances feature floor-to-ceiling openings shielded by thin plates, while small square cutouts in the structure echo traditional "jalousies" of local rural architecture, blending modern functionality with a nod to local design heritage.

RESTORATION OF AN 18TH CENTURY BUILDING
This project required transforming an 18th-century rural building, part of the historic Palazzo Morona complex in Treviso, into a modern dwelling, all while preserving its architectural heritage. The main challenge was adapting the existing structure, which included a turret with a prominent double-height arch once serving as the entrance to the courtyard, into a contemporary living space under strict historical preservation guidelines. The restoration included removing incongruous modern additions and reconstructing the original second floor, which had been lost over time. The double-height entry area was reimagined as the living room, enhanced by an elegant iron staircase and walkway that lightly detach from the ancient masonry to provide a modern yet subtle contrast. The former stable now serves as a kitchen and dining area, featuring a small, cube-like volume containing a bathroom and laundry, visually distinct yet integrated within the room. Upstairs, a suspended iron loft in the turret allows an appreciation of the original frescoes, with materials chosen to respect the building’s history, including original wooden ceilings and stone walls, combined with eco-friendly construction methods. This careful balance of old and new highlights the building's historical character while meeting the needs of a contemporary home.

This shopping mall project focused on creating an inviting and visually engaging space using economical building technologies. The design combines prefabricated concrete for the store structures with a striking white-painted glulam wooden roof over the gallery. Inside, the mall layout encourages visitor exploration through playful design elements: vibrant, colored ribbons above the shop windows and bold, asymmetrical geometric floor patterns that guide foot traffic. These colorful accents and flowing patterns contrast with the orderly grid of the wooden roof structure, resulting in a dynamic, layered experience that captures visitors' curiosity as they move between the 40 retail shops.

The project aimed to create a modular airport system designed to expand seamlessly as passenger traffic grows, initially accommodating up to one million passengers per year with the potential to add successive modules as needed. Each module is structured to operate independently, allowing new sections to be added without disrupting existing airport functions. The design offers flexibility in roofing materials to adapt to different architectural styles and construction methods: options include vaulted roofs supported by laminated wooden beams or metal lattice frameworks combined with prefabricated panels. This modular approach ensures the airport’s long-term adaptability, supporting scalable growth while maintaining architectural cohesion.

MODULAIR AIRPORT

The hospital’s facades are characterized by vertical cladding made from local stone. At the entrance, the vertical elements are angled to create a welcoming gesture, guiding visitors into the full-height lobby. Large open spaces and glass sections allow for natural light to filter through, emphasizing the design's balance between functionality and aesthetics. The design balances monumentality, rationality, and minimalism. The vertical partitions of the façade evoke grandeur, while subtle indentations in the structure soften the imposing scale. The tapered roof and sloping vertical fins at the entrance further enhance this sense of invitation, directing users toward the lobby. Inside, the expansive lobby houses the main circulation areas, providing clear and intuitive wayfinding. Additionally, the waiting room is designed with features reminiscent of icebergs and ice caps, offering a refreshing, cool atmosphere that contrasts with the intense heat of the Omani climate.

MODULAR 5 STARS HOTEL DOHA QATAR
The concept for this five-star hotel was driven by the need for rapid construction ahead of the 2022 World Cup, achieved through the use of prefabricated room modules. Each room includes a strategically positioned bathroom block and terrace, creating an alternating pattern of solids and voids on the building’s exterior. This design imparts a "massive" look that echoes the site’s architectural heritage while also featuring a full-height perimeter screen that unifies the building volumes, inspired by traditional "mashrabiya" latticework. The modular layout connects these room blocks to a central "spine" housing all public services, ensuring functional integration and a cohesive guest experience within a modern, regionally resonant aesthetic.

Starting from the entrance, the route is characterized by a cost waiting area which goes on to a kids play area with a bar and customer facilities, and ends in the restaurant hall; by crossing the hall one arrives at the open-plan kitchen and the different staff and utility rooms. The innovation in the restaurant hall’s layout - designed for approximately 235 seats - allows for a prompt change in the room’s dimensions thanks to the movable wood panels.
The open-plan kitchen overlooks the whole restaurant hall from the back, allowing the guests to choose every time the dishes that are being prepared on-the-spot by the chef. The choice and mixing of lights, colors and materials make this place homely and innovative.

The restoration of the ancient estate I Molini in Mirano Venice as the base for firm F&M Ingegneria was achieved through a redefinition of the distributive system. A central entrance hall, accessible thanks to the re-opening of an old plugged entrance, serves as a hinge for distributing the different parts of the building. In the entrance areas, Aurisina stone was used, whereas in the remaining areas oak boards of different sizes, laid perpendicular to the illuminated wall, were used. For this project the original elements were recovered in full, whereas the new elements, such as the iron stairs, were juxtaposed to the old building’s envelope.

To establish the design concept for a shoe store chain, we focused on creating a strong visual impression to make the store more memorable for customers. This was achieved using simple, inexpensive elements such as white spheres and rods suspended from the ceiling. The store's overall color scheme features ruby red walls with bold white graphic patterns. This particular location is a large warehouse-style store, spanning 2,500 square meters. Despite its size, the space has been thoughtfully divided into smaller sections using internal partitions and focal points that define the different departments, giving the feel of a more intimate shopping experience.

A 1930s cottage in 'eclectic' style is extended with the addition of two new building blocks. The existing building is completely emptied sky-ground. The perimeter walls are preserved and a basement is created with reinforced concrete walls built underneath the existing walls. The two newly built building blocks are clearly identified by Vicenza stone cladding and full-height vertical stairways. The square geometric shapes of the new additions are a counterpoint to the traditional architectural elements of the facades of the old building. The old entrance to the house remains, as a trace, but the new entrance comes from the side.
